My name is Tom Rowsell, I'm a historian, writer and film maker from England. In my professional career I have worked as a journalist and an international Science Communications specialist.

I started Survive the Jive™ blog in 2007 after I graduated with a BA in Media and Communications. Since 2009, the blog posts and videos of Survive the Jive™  focus to look more at mythology, spirituality and folklore. I got a Master’s degree in Medieval History at UCL in 2012, which greatly expanded my ideas on such subjects, particularly in regards to the values and religions of my Anglo-Saxon and Norse ancestors. 
My shows are based on thorough interdisciplinary research, drawing from archaeology, linguistics, historical sources, comparative mythology and population genetics - particularly archaeogenetics.

2007-ben indítottam el a Survive the Jive™ blogot, miután elvégeztem a média és kommunikáció (BA) szakot. 2009 óta a Survive the Jive™ blogbejegyzései és videói inkább a mitológiára, a spiritualitásra és a folklórra összpontosítanak. 2012-ben mesterdiplomát szereztem középkori történelemből az UCL-en, ami nagyban kibővítette az ilyen témákkal kapcsolatos elképzeléseimet, különös tekintettel angolszász és skandináv őseim értékeire és vallásaira.

Survive the Jive podcast is about history and ancient religions and folklore. Hosted by historian Thomas Rowsell who is also a documentary film maker, this podcast focuses mainly on Indo-European cultures and most specifically on Germanic/Norse paganism. The podcast takes a holistic approach to programming that informs, educates and improves us. It sometimes covers scientific topics but is mainly concerned with pre-Christian religions of Europe. Sometimes the podcasts are based on videos from the YouTube channel, other times they are exclusive. Guests can include historians, scientists, musicians and religious leaders.
